Just Ask the Press - TRUMP'S $5,000 Voter Bribe
In this episode of Just Ask the Press, host Brian Karem and co-hosts Mark Zaid and Nolan Higdon analyze major political and technological issues, starting with concerns over runaway artificial intelligence, escaped AI agents, and Donald Trump's assertion that a "smart president" is the only control needed. The panel reflects on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, debunking Trump's claims about assisting Ground Zero rescue efforts while critiquing the long-term erosion of civil liberties following the attacks. They evaluate the GOP midterm convention in Dallas, focusing on Trump's calls for supporters to "cheat like hell," his proposed $5,000 direct payout to voters, and his administration's escalating trade tensions with Canada. Concluding the broadcast, the hosts cover ethical scandals involving Corey Lewandowski's side-hustle soliciting contracts with Qatari officials, Russian oligarch funding connected to the Trump family, and the administration's aggressive efforts to restrict independent journalists' White House press access.
